DTBC (55) vs Blaze(11)
First game of the season took place Saturday evening in AVS with the home team coming out victors beating local rivals blaze 55 to 11.
First quarter saw the home team down by 4 points with young Gabriel Gallagher from Letterkenny scoring two uncontested layups. DTBC upped their defence and it paid off on the offence end. Eoghan Mc Partlan went off for 13 points in the quarter. Matthew Mc Inern who was brilliant throughout the game added a further two baskets. Blaze answered back with some tough scores. Donegal were just on top at the end of the first quarter 15 to 12.
The second quarter saw some great defence by the home team. Oisin Doherty and Niall Feeney lead the way pressurising the ball causing a number of turn overs. The home team also had two big men on the court this quarter who battled hard for rebounds. Just back from a two month injury Cormac Carr impressed with his persistence on offence rebounds and accurate passing.
In the Third quarter the home team lead by more than double figures and were starting to settle into the game. New comer David Lagen scored a number off tough baskets and played great defence throughout. Theo Coulhan was outstanding on both offence and defence. Theo hustled hard for loose balls and scored a number of nice baskets.
The game ended up 55-12 to the home side. An impressive display of basketball was performed by all who stepped on the court. Eoghan Mc Partlan stood out as MVP for the game with and impressive display of scoring and tough defence. Eoghan had 24 points in total and was a nightmare for the opposition.

Under 13s continue to training on Wednesday's in Balintra at 6 pm and AVS Sunday evenings at 6 pm.
